Dr. Brantley / Dr. Perry / Dr. Spratling / Dr. Hughes / Our Staff David H. Brantley, D.D.S., graduated from the University Of North Carolina School Of Dentistry in 1979. After graduation, Dr. Brantley served in the U. S. Army Dental Corps as a Captain and general dentist for three years. He received the Army Commendation Medal for his work in pediatric dentistry while stationed at Fort Gordon, Georgia, and the Oak Leaf Cluster award while stationed at Camp Walker in Taegu, Korea. Dr. Brantley returned to the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry and began a 2 year residency in the pediatric dental program in 1983. He received his degree in pediatric dentistry and started his dental practice in Augusta in 1985. Dr. Brantley is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the American Orthodontic Society, the Georgia Dental Association and the Eastern District Dental Society. He is also a member of the Augusta Dental Society where he has served as Vice-President and President. Previously, Dr. Brantley has acted as an assistant clinical professor in the department of Pediatric Dentistry at the Medical College of Georgia, and has presented seminars on Pediatric Dental Health. He currently teaches a seminar to the senior dental students on dentistry for the special needs patient. He most recently co-published an article titled "Bleaching Primary Teeth with 10% Carbamide Peroxide", in the Journal of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, with Dr. Van Haywood, Professor of Oral Rehabilitation at The Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Brantley has been on staff at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta since 1985, where he provides dental rehabilitative treatment to pediatric and special-needs patients in a day surgery setting. He regularly attends educational seminars to further his training in pediatric dentistry and interceptive orthodontics. Dr. Brantley is married to Lynn Roberson, of Augusta. They have four children - Will, Scott, Chad, and Ashton. He and his family attend New Hope Worship Center. Dr. Brantley has been on mission trips to Haiti and Mexico, and plans to participate in other mission trips in the future. He enjoys being a father and staying active in his sons’ school functions. He supports them in football, basketball, and golf. He and Lynn are committed to raising their children in a Christian home. As a family, they enjoy water skiing, snow skiing, ball games, and family vacations. Amber O. Perry, D.M.D., graduated from the University of Georgia in 1996 with a B.S. degree in Microbiology. After graduation, Dr. Perry attended the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry, where she received her D.M.D. in May 2000. She then completed a two year residency in pediatric dentistry at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Perry began her associateship in private practice at Pediatric Dental Specialists, the office of Dr. David H. Brantley, in July 2002. Dr. Perry is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the Eastern District Dental Society, and the Augusta Dental Society. She is certified in basic life support, as well as pediatric advanced life support. During her residency, she researched and co-authored an article on the topic of pit and fissure sealants. The study will soon be published in Pediatric Dentistry, a journal of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Perry is currently on staff at Doctor’s Hospital, in Augusta, where she provides dental rehabilitation for pediatric and special needs patients. She regularly attends continuing education seminars, and is classified as Board Eligible by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Perry is originally from Rincon, Georgia. She is married to Dr. Jason Perry, of Grayson, Georgia. They have a girl, Ella, and are expecting their second child in April, 2006. She enjoys traveling, water sports, exercising, and spending time with family and friends.
John W. Spratling, D.M.D., attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville on a soccer scholarship and graduated in 1988 with a B.A. in Biology. After graduation, Dr. Spratling worked as a textile production manager and also as a medical sales representative for several large pharmaceutical companies. In 1998, Dr. Spratling returned to school to pursue his dream of dentistry. He graduated from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in 2002. Dr. Spratling then completed a two year residency in pediatric dentistry at the Medical College of Georgia. He joined the practice at Pediatric Dental Specialists in July, 2004. Dr. Spratling is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the Eastern District Dental Society, the Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Augusta Dental Society. While in Dental School, he was the recipient of the Medical College of Georgia 2001 “Dolly Award”, voted by classmates as the rising senior with the most professionalism, the most empathy toward patients, and the most perseverance. Dr. Spratling is currently on staff at Doctor’s Hospital, in Augusta, where he provides dental rehabilitation for pediatric and special needs patients. He regularly attends educational seminars to further his training in pediatric dentistry, and is classified as Board Eligible by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Spratling is originally from Waycross, Georgia and is married to the former Susan Roberson, of Augusta. Susan also has formal training in the dental field as a dental hygienist. They have four children – twin boys, Mason and Turner, and two girls, Ivy and Liza Dell. Dr. Spratling’s children attend Augusta Christian School where both he and his wife are involved in various school functions. He also finds time to help coach his son’s sports teams. As a family they enjoy various sports activities and also the chance to “root on” the Georgia Bulldogs. Bio Coming Soon!
